Christie & Co publishes German Hotel Investment Review & Outlook report

In 2024, the German hotel investment market showed slight signs of recovery with a total transaction volume of €1.32 billion. The second half of the year saw a significant market revival, with improved buyer sentiment and increased transaction activity.

Key findings of the report include:

• Significant increase in international investments in Germany due to favourable exchange rates and robust market development.
• Increased investments in the upscale and luxury segments: These segments were particularly popular with investors in 2024, while the majority of rooms sold were in the economy segment.
• Opportunistic buyers leading the market: Private investors, family offices, and owner/operators significantly increased their market share, while institutional investors remained cautious.
• Concentration of investments in established A-locations, with notable growth also seen in C and D cities.

The industry report was prepared by the brokerage, consultancy and valuation teams at Christie & Co Central Northern Europe.
