Owned by Edmond de Rothschild Heritage, and previously operated by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, this 5-star hotel, located in the heart of the French Alps, consists of three iconic chalets: Ève, Noémie and Alice, named in honour of three of the daughters of Ariane and Benjamin de Rothschild, grandson of Baroness Noémie, at the origin of the prestigious ski resort.
The Chalets du Mont d'Arbois are now operated by Beyond Places, since 1st October 2024, at the head of a collection of hotels dedicated to epicureans, looking for exceptional stays.
“The regional positioning of Christie & Co, with strong expertise in the Alps, made it possible to identify a wide range of operators capable of managing the assets. The process launched after the 2023/2024 winter season created great passion on the part of the shortlisted operators, all won over by the excellent quality of the establishment and the high level of services provided. Edmond de Rothschild Heritage was particularly sensitive to the positioning proposed by Beyond Places, centred around the history of the Rothschild family, its values and its art of living,” comments Aurélien Passaquay, Regional Manager of the Christie & Co office in Lyon.
With 40 rooms, including 8 suites, and a range of 5-star services, this establishment promises an experience that is both luxurious and intimate, in an atmosphere steeped in history and refinement.
“We are very happy and honoured to take over the Chalets du Mont d’Arbois, the quintessence of the luxury family home. Our local presence and in-depth knowledge of mountain hotels will allow us to reinvent this legendary house to offer an unforgettable experience to our customers,” explains Guillaume Multrier, co-founder of Beyond Places.
Perfectly located at the foot of the ski slopes on the heights of Megève, Les Chalets du Mont d'Arbois were acquired in 1960 by Baron Edmond de Rothschild to host the famous 100 hours evening, which inaugurated the renovation of the first hotel establishment in the family.
Several phases of renovation, in which Ariane de Rothschild was personally involved, made it possible to modernize the establishment while retaining its soul and charm of yesteryear.
“We are delighted to have supported Edmond de Rothschild Heritage, with his advisor Loxi Hospitality, in this search for an operator. This opportunity attracted dozens of offers of interest. Following a rigorous selection process, Beyond Places was chosen to take over the management of the Chalets du Mont d'Arbois, from the 2024/2025 winter season” comments Carine Bonnejean, Managing Director Hotels at Christie & Co United Kingdom.
“Edmond de Rothschild Heritage undertook with Four Seasons the repositioning of the Chalets du Mont d’Arbois in 2019, following a complete renovation program of the assets. Today, we are keen to surround ourselves with a new operator who capitalizes on this magnificent heritage and strives to promote it to tourists from all over the world,” comments Alexis de La Palme, President of Edmond de Rothschild Heritage.
