Ideally located in the heart of a residential housing estate in Chadburn, Peterborough, the Nisa branded store benefits from high footfall and is depended on by the area’s many locals for its wide range of convenience items.
The store has been owned and operated by a husband-and-wife team for the last 19 years, who sold it due to retirement. They comment, “It was a complicated journey, but we managed it in the end. Christie & Co and especially Lewis Last made sure we were well looked after and kept us up to date with any developments. Glad they stuck by us, and we pulled this sale off!”
The business has been purchased by experienced wholesale operators with a wealth of knowledge in the retail sector.
Ashley Clements, Senior Finance Consultant at Christie Finance, comments, “It was a pleasure working with the new owners to source the funding for this purchase. Although not without its challenges, with the support of Lewis and the tenacity of our client, we were able to overcome them and see this transaction through to completion. I wish them all the best with this venture and look forward to working with them again.”
Lewis Last, Senior Business Agent at Christie & Co who handled the sale, comments, “I wish I could say every deal was straight forward. However, that was not the case on this transaction, and it required all my agency skills (plus acquiring a few new ones along the way) to see this over the line.
“I am delighted for the previous owners, who are a husband-and-wife team. Having got to know them personally through this transaction I understand how much this sale means to the family, who can hopefully now enjoy more time together as they plan for their retirement together.
“For the purchasers, this is a fantastic acquisition, and I am sure they will build on the success the previous owners have built over their 19-year tenure. The new owner’s experience in wholesales with undoubtably prove useful as they embrace retail convenience. I know there are plans to re-fit the shop and introduce online sales – I very much look forward to catching up with them in the future.”
