Nursery Times at the Park - which is located in the Hamilton Academical Football Stadium in Hamilton - was opened by Peter and Miriam Cannon and fellow Director, Anne Cannon, in 2004. Following their success, Miriam returned to her roots in Clydebank and opened Nursery Times by the River in 2010 which is in Change House on Cable Road. Together, the settings cater for up to a total of 178 children aged six weeks to five years.

Following a confidential sales process with Martin Daw at Christie & Co, the two nurseries have been sold to Bright Stars which now owns 21 settings across Scotland.

Miriam Cannon, Founder and former owner of the settings, comments, “We are delighted to have completed the sale of the nurseries to Bright Stars. We are very confident they will continue to offer the excellent level of service our families have enjoyed over the years and that they will uphold and protect the legacy we have created and leave behind.”

Stephen Booty, Chairman at Bright Stars, comments, “We are thrilled to have acquired these two exceptional nurseries in Glasgow. These settings have long been recognised for their outstanding commitment to early childhood education and care, thanks to the unwavering dedication of Miriam and Anne, who have built a nurturing environment over the years. We are committed to upholding the legacy that Miriam and Anne have created. Our mission is to provide high-quality childcare that fosters the growth, creativity, and well-being of every child. We are excited to continue the tradition of excellence that these settings have established, ensuring that families in the community receive the same level of care and support they have come to trust.”

Martin Daw, Senior Director at Christie & Co, comments, “Having known Miriam and Anne for many years, it was a real honour when they asked me to run the confidential sale process for them. It was clear we needed to marry the quality of the business with a buyer who demonstrated similar values. I wish both Anne and Miriam well in the next chapter of their lives and am confident that Bright Stars will continue to build on the excellent level of service they leave behind.”

The Nursery Times settings were sold for an undisclosed price.
