The Old Ox Inn has been serving the local community of Shillingstone and surrounding villages since 1859 and has been listed as an asset of community value (ACV).
Comprising a 52-cover bar and restaurant, skittle alley and large beer garden, along with four-bedroom owners accommodation, the cherished village pub has been owned and leased out by Garry and Gillie Pickering for the past five years. Their latest tenant vacated the business earlier this year, creating an exciting opportunity for a new operator to take over the pub.
The new owners, Shaun and Marcia Hannam are local operators who currently operate The Shack, a popular haunt in Spetisbury.
Richard Wood, Regional Director at Christie & Co who handled the deal, comments, “I am delighted to have sourced new owners for the Old Ox Inn at Shillingstone, thus ensuring the future of the pub for the local community and customer base. Given the new owners ties to the local community and other business success in the area, I have no doubt that they will make the pub a real success.”
