Pair of residing stores in Bristol sold through Christie & Co following 40 year ownership

Operated by Clive Mortimer since 1983 and 2004 respectively, the two neighbouring stores have been sold to Suresh Kulasingam.
Yatton News is a well-established convenience store which has been serving the local community from its position on Yatton High Street for over 40 years. Situated right next door, Cork and Fork is an off license and deli which is very popular among locals for its freshly made sandwiches and hot meals.
Previous owner, Clive comments on the sale, “Well I am full of emotion – 40 years plus in the field of retailing in the same shop has come to an end. My word, have we seen some changes during that time going from pencil and pad through to digital, along with working throughout covid.
“Our bond with the staff and customers is like one big family and we are going to find it hard to adjust. We can't thank our customers and staff enough for being so loyal and supportive. We would like to wish the new owner Suresh every success and a big thanks to Christie & Co for directing us through the process. Life now begins with golf, holidays, and the pub without commitment.”
The new owner, Suresh Kulasingam, comments on the sale, “Clive and Angela have been very helpful during the take over and also been helping me to deal with current suppliers. I wish them both a happy and relaxing retirement and wish them all the best for the future.”
