New owner for popular Altrincham health centre pharmacy

Pelican Pharmacy is a standard hours community pharmacy which dispenses an average of 4,249 items per month and is located in Timperley, Altrincham - around six miles from the centre of Manchester. The pharmacy sits within a health centre and has recently felt the benefits of a new GP partnership in the building, with items rising as new patients come to the location.
The business, which originally began on 344 Manchester Road but relocated to its current site in 2021, has been owned by Gary Chan since 2012 and was brought to market to allow him to concentrate on a new venture and spend more time with his family.
Following a confidential sales process with Jon Booth and Tom Young at Christie & Co, and with funding sourced through Alena Ray at Christie Finance, it has been purchased by first-time buyer, Kiruba Kamal Raj. Her son, who is currently training to be a Pharmacist, will soon join her at the business and the pair will work together to grow the pharmacy’s private services offering.

After a quick confidential marketing campaign, which harvested several offers to consider, we did the deal with Kiruba and I am very pleased that she has now taken over, with her experience and vision the business is set to move to the next level, and I am confident my customers and staff have been left in great hands.”

Pelican Pharmacy was sold for an undisclosed price.
