The venue, which is registered as an Asset of Community Value, has been closed for over two years but will be completely renovated to provide state-of-the-art facilities for its beneficiaries. Shireway Community Centre is located in Yate, South Gloucestershire, a residential community area surrounded by countryside and situated to the North East of Bristol.

Pauls Place has a long-standing reputation for its commitment to improving quality of life for physically disabled adults through various programs and services. The acquisition of the Shireway Community Centre marks a significant milestone in their mission to expand and enhance their offerings.

The renovation work planned by Pauls Place includes modernizing the existing structure and adding new facilities to better serve the community. This development is expected to bring new opportunities and support to physically disabled adults in the area.

Lynda Williams, CEO of Pauls Place, commented: “We are extremely excited about our move to Shireway and the opportunities it will create for not only the charity but the residents of Yate. Our charity’s vision is for a ‘Paul’s Place Hub’ - a completely accessible building that will allow us to support more disabled people, in turn reducing isolation increasing opportunities for physically disabled adults to enter employment, become a visible part of the community and live their life to the full.

Alongside our daily activity facility, one of our plans is to set up a community café which will be run by the adults we support. Shireway will mean we are able to increase the number of activities and programmes we offer as well as the number of members who are able to attend. We really hope the local community will get behind our plans and support us as much as possible”.

Richard Wood, Regional Director at Christie & Co who managed the sale, commented: “I am delighted to have completed the sale of Shireway Community Centre, which generated multiple bids following a best and final bids process. We are thrilled that it has gone to such a great charity and wish them every success in their future endeavours.”

Shireway Community Centre was sold for an undisclosed price.
