Situated within the North York Moors National Park, The Board Inn is a popular pub among tourists and locals for its quality food and beverage offering, and stunning views of the River Esk. Originally built c.1742, the characterful pub offers a warm and friendly atmosphere, featuring a bar area, lounge and restaurant. The property also includes five letting rooms and an abundance of outdoor seating on the river bank.
David Cash, Regional Director at Christie & Co who handled the sale, comments, “I’ve known Alistair & Karen for some years now and we’ve discussed their plans to ultimately move the pub on at some point. We decided on them retaining the freehold asset and selling the business only, giving them a sustainable income and an investment, without the day to day running of a business. This involved creating a new lease, the terms of which we negotiated for benefit both Landlord & Tenant, which should ensure a sustainable, long-term income for both parties.
